RYAN LUO - PROJECT MANAGER
Project management skills are always in demand. Do you want to see if your background, experience and skill set can fit into the requirements that employers are looking for?
If that is the case, then Ryan Luo is the person to talk to. AS an experienced IT project manager, he can provide insight to help you in your career change.
Ryan Luo is an IT Project Manager currently employed at NuVasive, a medical device company that specializes in minimally invasive spine surgery.
Despite holding a Bachelor's degree in Economics & Accounting from the University of California at Santa Barbara, Ryan has extensive experience in project management and technology. In the 2 years he has been at NuVasive, he has focused on key IT Infrastructure Projects, working closely with Sr. Managers and Directors, utilizing the Waterfall and Scrum Methodology.
In addition, while at University, he
was President of SB Hacks, a 36 hour overnight university event that brought in 300+ university students all across California to develop solutions through programming. As President, he managed 4 teams, Logistics, Sponsorships, Technology, and Marketing. Outside of work, he enjoys working on film scripts, playing basketball, and tinkering with his PC.
Currently at NuVasive, Ryan continues to dedicate his efforts towards Infrastructure projects but is now taking on Process Improvement dedicated towards improving processes in the entire IT Organization.

Do You Think People Are Wanting To Change Careers Due To COVID-19
You are exactly right if you feel COVID has had an impact on the careers of numerous individuals.
According to an iHire survey of 2,871 job seekers recently, 61.8% are considering a major career change for next year.
Of that number, nearly half (28.6%) said that a change is “very likely”. This is a direct result of COVID-19 and its impact on various industries.
As you would expect, industries such as travel and hospitality were greatly impacted. Even if a person was not laid off, the demand for such services are limited now and possibly for the future. You can see movement towards the healthcare another industries that are are considered essential.
